April’s Guacamole

This is a guacamole recipe I’ve been using for a few years now. Of course, recipes for guacamole are entirely flexible and I love to make garlicky guacamole with a little verde salsa kick. I’m not crazy about raw onion in guacamole, although I know a lot of people love red onion mixed in. Depending on what is on hand, I’ll change it up on a whim. When making fresh guacamole, your chances are good that it will turn out awesome!

2 avocados, diced
1/2 lime or lemon, juiced
1-2 small garlic cloves, finely chopped
green salsa (verde)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro (or marjoram)
kosher salt
black and/or white pepper

Mix all ingredients together, mashing the avocado, seasoning with salt, pepper, and salsa to taste.

Serve with tortilla chips, on tacos, sandwiches, whatever your heart desires!
