I made my first green smoothie and I’m happy to say it doesn’t taste at all like spinach or avocado 🙂
I wanted to use up some spinach in my fridge today and looked around online for some combination ideas. I decided on an avocado and 3 sweet fruits for a nice fruity flavor.
2 packed cups spinach, big stems removed, or use baby spinach
1 avocado, cut into chunks
1 orange, peeled
1 mango, cut into chunks
2 bananas, peeled
12 raw almonds
2 handfuls ice cubes
coconut milk, as needed
2 Tbsp. cocoa nibs (optional)
Add all ingredients in a blender and puree until your desired consistency. The cocoa nibs add a nice crunch to the smoothie. If that doesn’t interest you, just leave them out.
Swap out ingredients as you wish. You can choose your own favorite fruits to add, or check what extra fruit you have on hand and swap them! You could include a cucumber, some chia seeds, flax seed, use a different non-dairy milk, etc. Mix it up, and let me know in the comments what combinations you love!
