Pear Crumble

I used green pears and pecans in this fabulous dessert and we both really loved it. It definitely tastes similar to apple pie but much easier to make! And I love that the dish is mainly fruit with a bit of sweet crumble topping. I’ll be making this again soon!

3 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons old-fashioned oats
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
Dash of ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon cold butter (or use vegan butter)
1/4 cup chopped nuts
3 medium pears, peeled, cored and sliced
3 tablespoons lemon juice

In a large bowl, combine the sugar, oats, flour, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. Cut in butter until mixture becomes crumbly. Mix in the chopped nuts.

Arrange pear slices in a 1-qt. baking dish. Sprinkle with the lemon juice. Sprinkle crumble mixture over pears. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly.

Makes 2-3 servings.
